Cooperation of Alerion and RME on drone inspections
ROBUR Renewable Management Engineers GmbH (RME) has collaborated with Spain-based Alerion to conduct drone-based inspections at four wind farms operated by Energiekontor in Portugal.
Drone-based inspections offer several advantages. The main one, however, is a fast and highly qualified result while reducing costs and employee risk. A single flight is sufficient for an inspection. On average, the inspection time is between 8-13 minutes per plant, damage is automatically detected, categorized and validated and evaluated by experts. The drone provides us with high-resolution images, which al-low us to achieve a high level of detail of the damage and to categorize what type of damage it is.
In this collaboration, ALERION provided the drone pilot and RME provided the tech-nician operated the wind turbines and validated inspection reports. A cooperation of this kind allows us to cover a wide range of services worldwide especially in USA, Mexico, Latin America and Europe.
